Rogano's restaurant and oyster bar is a Glasgow institution, loved by locals and visitors alike.
It is Glasgow's oldest surviving restaurant and a great place to go for fresh fish and seafood. The 1930's Art Deco style gives the restaurant and bar a unique character, slightly warn but very warm and congenial, definitely not out of fashion today. It is old school classy, but not at all pretentious.
The oysters of the day, when we visited, were Ballimore Oysters from Loch Fyne. Reasonably priced at £11 for half a dozen. They can also be ordered chilled with caviar, ginger & lime, or cooked in various ways. Check out the oyster bar menu for further details.
Rogano's is a great pit-stop while in The Merchant City. Open for lunch, dinner or a glass of champagne and half a dozen oysters at anytime of day, it's well worth a visit.
