CHAMPAGNE Champagne, with its natural acidity, has always been the perfect companion for oysters. Try them with a Brut, Nature, or Extra Brut champagne or cava. Our bubbles of choice are the Catalan cava 'Privat Reserva Brut Nature' Another classic pairing. Oysters go well with punchy, acidic, sharp-tongued white wines as their character perfectly accompanies the high iodine element found in oysters. We recommend whites from the Loire Valley region such as; Muscadet, Sancerre
Oysters and stout were once considered a poor man's meal. In the past both were cheap and easily available, low-cost nutrition. Nowadays they are still fairly nutritious but not as cheap! Some stouts are fermented with real oysters while other breweries use artificial oyster flavours. Real oysters give a beautifully smooth and creamy texture to a stout. Our favourite oyster stout is DOUBLE SHUCK by the Scottish brewery Tempest Brewing Co. #oysterstouts #doubleshuckstouttempe
